Our story

This is Ron, He is more than just a cat, He is a total gentleman, or  'gentlecat'.

He lives 'happily ever now' at home with us.

We rescued him from the streets when He was a tiny kitten, just about 2 weeks old. He is now eight years old.

We have gotten to know each other so well that I can say we are an extended family of more than one species, including humans and felines, living in harmony.

And, this is Aleph...

We rescued Aleph first from the streets when he was around two to three weeks old.

Aleph and Ron grew up like brothers, with Aleph being more dominant, perhaps because he arrived home one week earlier. They have been good siblings all along, hehe.

Aleph is no longer with us. He passed away a couple of years ago due to a heart condition, possibly a stroke. He may have also eaten something wrong, as he was sometimes a little rascal with food. Ah, Aleph, you were so funny!!

Aleph, you will be always in our hearts!

It has been hilarious sharing a home with these two cats!

Cats are generous, they have a strong sense of family. They seem to be serious, but they are seriously committed to love!

A whole new level with Ron

We have spent a lot of time and other resources searching for intelligence in other planets and galaxies. However, now that we know more about multiple intelligences, we have discovered it in our own home planet: in ourselves and the animals, haha.

Animals are other intelligent species with their own nature and language. Ron, our cat, talks to us. We talk.

It is a matter of acknowledging each other, sharing signs, thoughts, and feelings. It is a middle ground between his and our not-always-verbal codes.

He gives us space and he also holds space for us. He is always there, unless he is resting (of course).

We cooperate and teach each other things, things of life, like empathy. It has been my honor, our honor, living with such a representative of such a respectful species.

At home, we are me, my wife, my two sons, my daughter, and Ron. I am happy to say that we are best of friends.

Now, We are in a whole new level. We have learnt a lot from Ron.

How We rescued Ron

It was a pouring night. I could barely see anything from the car because of the heavy rain, so I drove home very slowly with Nohemí. Even though we lived in a dense urban city, there were almost no lights at all.

She asked me to look for that tiny kitten we had seen that same morning when we were going to film a project.

Earlier that day, Nohemí had told me to take the baby cat who was begging for attention. I remember saying that we were on time for our call, and that the little kitten would be taken by those people he was trying to reach with his cuteness and meows. But he didn't

In that same dark night, after shooting films, Nohemí insisted on going back to look for him, not knowing where he could be. So we made some turns to give it a chance.

In the middle of nowhere, she shouted: "There he is!"

I stopped, seeing nothing but some trunk closing and the taillights of a car speeding away.

Nohemí threw herself into the rain, and there she came with Ron, who is now actually touching my arm with his cottony paw to share some hugs, and purring at me as I write these lines.

Ron was soaked and severely injured when Nohemí found him.

Who knows how rejected he felt that day, but we found him with our intuition and then cared for him.

We have enjoyed each other's company ever since.

Now, he is a big and strong cat. He is independent, but supportive, and loving. That is respect.

We encourage people to rescue and responsibly adopt those big little fellows. It is an amazing experience for both...!
